Which word describes Quickpaye Agency best?

Small business owners/Directors, working by themselves or just employing one other person can find Payroll and accountancy costs, eye wateringly expensive – so Michelle at Quickpaye has created a Payroll plan for such a business.

The plan includes:

MAKING TAX DIGITAL – WE EXPLAIN WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT TRY AND DO THIS YOURSELF!

MAKING TAX DIGITAL – WE EXPLAIN WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT TRY AND DO THIS YOURSELF!

Confused?  We are here to explain to you exactly what this means.

MTD is being brought in from 1st April 2019 and will only affect you if:

  1. Your business has a turnover of MORE THAN £85K and you are VAT registered.

  2. If you have received an email from HMRC telling you that you will need to file your VAT return under MTD.

Therefore if you usually submit your VAT return via the HMRC website, using a spreadsheet or similar, you will no longer be able to do this.

You will need to use a registered software or employ a company such as ourselves to do this for you.

NOW, it may appear to be easy and you might be thinking about buying a software package but why don’t you let us help you by using one of our packages? This will free up your time, so that you can focus on your business and will save you money too!

We have helped hundreds of our clients avoid getting into trouble and we are here to take the headache away!

ARE YOU GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF HELP WITH YOUR CHILDCARE COSTS?

The cost of childcare eats up a large part of your budget so have you checked to see if you are getting what you are entitled to from the government?

All three and four year olds are entitled to 570 hours of free early education or childcare per annum, which most people take as 15 hours each week over 38 weeks.

You can use these free hours at Ofsted registered childcare providers like the following:

An additional 15 hours of free childcare for three and four year olds is also now available nationally from this month.

Those eligible will get a total of 30 hours for 38 weeks a year.

To be eligible for the additional 15 hours of free childcare:

  • The child needs to be 3 or 4 years of age when the local scheme begins.
  • Both parents must be working – or the sole parent must be working in a single parent family.
  • Each parent must earn on average at least the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.
  • Each parent must earn less than £100,000 per annum

If you want to find out what free early education and childcare is available in your area, then look on the UK website.

Top tips for employing staff for the first time

Top tips for employing staff for the first time

There are 7 things you need to do when employing staff for the first time:

  1. Decide how much to pay someone – you must pay your employee at least the National Minimum Wage.
  2. Check if someone has the legal right to work in the UK. You may have to do other employment checks as well.
  3. Check if you need to apply for a DBS check (formerly known as a CRB check) if you work in a field that requires one, eg with vulnerable people or security.
  4. Get employment insurance – you need employers’ liability insurance as soon as you become an employer.
  5. Send details of the job (including terms and conditions) in writing to your employee. You need to give your employee a written statement of employment if you’re employing someone for more than 1 month.
  6. Tell HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) by registering as an employer – you can do this up to 4 weeks before you pay your new staff.
  7. Check if you need to automatically enrol your staff into a workplace pension scheme.
